Landscape photography has been a great passion for well over 30 years and during that time I have enjoyed photographing some wonderful locations in many countries. Scotland, however, is my home and I consider myself extremely fortunate to live in a country which has such a variety of fine landscape subjects.
I greatly enjoy viewing the images of other landscape photographers and over the years I have been influenced and inspired by the outstanding work of people such as Charlie Waite, Joe Cornish, David Ward, Bruce Percy and Michael Kenna. I have been privileged to spend time with some of these masters of landscape photography and have benefited greatly from their advice.
I have been honoured to receive a Masters Award from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, an Associateship from the Royal Photographic Society and awards and medals from The Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique, The Photographic Society of America, The Scottish Photographic Federation and The Irish Photographic Federation. I am a triple award winner in the Scottish Nature Photography Awards and was runner up in the 2016 Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year, Sea and Coast category. In recent years, several of my images have been shortlisted and commended in the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards, the latest commendation being in 2017.
The images on this site have been made using a variety of digital cameras and edited in Adobe software to try to invoke some of the character and atmosphere of the wonderful scenes I have photographed.
